What is QAQY ?
QAQY is the Quebec Alliance of Queer Youth. QAQY's mission is to group community organizations, organizations projects, and student associations that works with young lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, questionning and their allies, everywhere in Quebec, to make them help each other in their commune objectives.
With more than twenty members, QAQY offers, all year long, events that can make young queers get together. To facilitate sharing information between groups, we organise, twice each year, small congress, called Rendez-vous du REJAQ, in the Quebec area in Fall and in the Montreal area in spring.
To add more visibility for young queers, QAQY organizes, during Montreal's gay pride, a youth group in the parade, et presence in the community fest. And, to find support for our claims in the population in general, we developped with AlterHeros the Allies Declaration.
Finally, to represent queer youth adequately, QAQY is participating to many comitees that make actions socially, in the community and politically.
Queer is used here to unify sexual diversity. It includes, for the present website, every person having sexual attractions and being confronted to those attractions, and being discriminated or being questionned by their sexual orientation / gender identity.
